Med Tilbage til Haven - Voices & Traces har vi tænkt over hvordan vi kunne inddrage lokale stemmer og lyde fra området, sådan at værket kan tale med sin egen “egns-stemme”.
Derfor var det selvfølgelig oplagt at spørge OTH kirkernes kor “Koret på Toppen” om de havde lyst til at bidrage. Og det havde de heldigvis.
With Tilbage til Haven - Voices & Traces, we have thought about how we could include local voices and sounds from the area, so that the work can speak with its own "regional voice". Therefore, it was natural to ask the OTH churches' choir "Koret på Toppen" if they wanted to contribute. And fortunately they did.
En torsdag i marts satte vi mikrofonerne op i den gamle præstegård i Sneptrup, som lige nu er et slags multihus for lokale kreative sjæle.
On a Thursday in March, we set up the microphones in the old vicarage in Sneptrup, which is currently a kind of multi-house for local creative souls.
Udfordringen ved denne optagelse var, at vi ikke råder over 17 ekstra headsets - og derfor var nødt til at indspille a capella - uden nogen musik for sangerne at lytte til. Musikken og beatet gik til Karolines hovedtelefoner, som agerede metronom/dirigent foran koret - imens Mark styrede elektronikken og sang med tenorerne.
The challenge with this recording was that we don't have 17 extra headsets - so we had to record a capella - without any music for the singers to listen to. The music and the beat went to Karoline's headphones, so she acted as metronome/conductor in front of the choir - while Mark controlled the recording/engineering while also singing with the tenors.
Det lykkedes faktisk ret godt at indspille på denne måde. Kæmpe tak til Koret på Toppen for jeres medvirken. Det var en fokuseret og sjov aften.
It actually managed to work quite well this way. Huge thanks to Koret på Toppen for your participation. It was a focused and fun evening.
Fællesskabets energi kommer igennem på de to tracks “Exodus” og “Star!”.
