From the recording Winter and the Sacred Tree - A Live Concert Recording
Music and Words: Mark Davis
The farther north one goes, the longer the winter night gets. However long the night is, the sun is still there shining on our world; we just can’t always see it, at least not directly. How can we anchor this knowing and internalize the light of the sun when it isn’t visible?
Lyrics
This light came from so long ago
To touch, to paint your face in gold
In the cold bitter heart of the winter’s night
There is a glow
In the cold bitter heart of the winter’s night
Who’d ever know?
This light came from so far away
To light for me your golden face
And you can’t help but feel
that you’ve wandered down this road before
And you can’t help but feel
like it’s only darkness that’s in store
But this light came from so far away
This light, I know, it knows the way
