Vi er i marts 2024 og midt i vores projekt “Tilbage til Haven” - en Musikvandring på Sneptrup præstegårdssti. Efter en lang optakt går det stærkt nu, både med at indspille og planlægge premieren.
I juli 2022 blev kimen til projektet lagt. I Tørskind Grusgrav ved Egtved havde man sat musik til Robert Jakobsens landskabsskulpturer - og det blev vi meget betaget af. Nogen spurgte om der ikke skulle sættes musik til præstegårdsstien? — og idéen var født.
It is March 2024 and we are now in the middle of our project "Back to the Garden" - a unique project: setting music for people to listen to as they walk along the Sneptrup Praestegaard trail in Mid-Jutland, Denmark. After a long exploration if the project was possible, things are now going strong, both with recording and planning the premiere.
The seeds for the project were laid back in July 2022. In Tørskind Grusgrav near Egtved, they had set music to Robert Jakobsen's landscape sculptures - and we were very impressed by that. Someone asked if there should maybe be music written for the vicarage path? — and the idea was born.
Vi elsker research! Mange gåture på stien i al slags vejr. At blive fortrolig med landskabet og naturens egen musik: fuglelivet, træer, vand, vind. Og vores egen lyd: menneske der vandrer, fodtrin på skovbund, jord, grus. Åndedræt og puls. Læg til det motorvejens uophørlige susen.
We love research! We’ve had many walks on the trail in all kinds of weather; becoming familiar with the landscape and nature's own music: birdlife, trees, water, wind. And our own sound: human walking, footsteps on the forest floor, soil, gravel. Breathing and pulse. Add to that the incessant hum of the nearby highway.
Præstegårdsstiens træskulpturer er skabt af Allan Bo Jensen. De forestiller skikkelser fra bibelen - mange fra det gamle testamente. Også her er der meget at fundere over. Snakke med Allan Bo og den tidligere præst, Benedicte. Hvorfor lige disse figurer? Læse historierne. Hvorfor lige disse historier? Hvad er det vi skal lære af figurerne?
The wooden sculptures along the path were created by Allan Bo Jensen. They depict figures from the Bible - namely from the Old Testament. Here, too, there is much to think about. We talked to Allan Bo and the former priest, Benedicte. Why these figures? We’ve read the stories. Why these stories? What are we to learn from the them?
Det er bevægende at træde ind over tærsklen, ind i Haven, som keruberne vogter med flammesværd - og følge trådene ind i de dybeste lag af menneskelig erfaring - det som figurerne med hver sin historie fortæller om.
It is moving to step across the path’s threshold entrance into the Garden, where cherubim with flaming swords stand guard. And then to follow the threads of the path into further layers of human experience - what the figures, each with their own story, have to tell.
Og nu står vi her: i et stykke smuk natur - som vi skal passe på. Som næsten er ved at blive rendt over ende af den nærliggende motorvej. Og hvad er det musik kan? - her på Præstegårdsstien, midt i naturen og sammen med figurernes alvorlige ansigter?
Vi synes - ved - og tror på, at musik kan åbne os og gøre os bløde om hjertet. Musik skaber forbindelse - både til det ydre og vores eget indre landskab.
And all the while we are held in a piece of beautiful nature which we must take care of, which is almost being run over by the nearby motorway. And what can music actually do here on Præstegårdsstien, in the middle of nature and together with the serious faces of the figures?
We think - know - and believe that music can open us up and soften our hearts. Music creates a connection - both to the world outside and to our own inner landscape.
